African Rietveld School focused on structural refinement using FullProf

From the 15th to the 17th of April, the Laboratory of Inorganic Materials for Sustainable Energy Technologies (LIMSET), in collaboration with the Center for Doctoral Studies, held the 2025 edition of the African Rietveld School (ARS25) at University Mohammed VI Polytechnic Campus in Benguerir.

The program brought together materials researchers working on structural resolution, with a focus on the refinement of pure phases, multiphasic systems, and magnetic structures using the FullProf software. Sessions also addressed the treatment of structural defects during the refinement process.

Participants attended lectures on the Rietveld method, explored advanced crystallographic techniques, and engaged in practical work on phase and structure refinement. The event included oral presentations and posters, offering participants a space to share research involving Rietveld refinement.
