UM6P and Canary Islands universities signed an agreement on research and academic mobility

On the 9th of July, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic and the Universities of La Laguna and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria signed a collaboration agreement in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The signing ceremony was attended by UM6P President Mr. Hicham El Habti, Mr. Khalid Baddou, Chief of Staff & Institutional Affairs Director, as well as other UM6P representatives, the President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo Batlle, the rectors of both Canary Islands universities, and representatives of the regional government.

The agreement established three key collaboration areas: joint research projects in renewable energy and sustainability, academic mobility programs including student exchanges, and shared research infrastructure. This is the first initiative of its kind to be launched between a Spanish regional government and an African country.

As part of this collaboration, four students from EMINES School of Industrial Management are undertaking summer internships at the Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC), from the 7th of July to 11th of September working across different departments within ITC Facilities.
