NAFAS : First resuscitation and intensive care respirator, an innovation of UM6P
Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) presented a brand-new invention at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy. It is the first 100% Moroccan resuscitation and intensive care respirator, named NAFAS.
NAFAS is in essence, high technology and artificial intelligence developed by more than 70 volunteer collaborators: professors, doctors, engineers, doctoral students, managers and students.
NAFAS is the result of joint work between several R&D departments of UM6P who worked for 7 weeks, in perfect synergy to produce this prototype. The first step towards the industrialization of this product.
Reflecting on the mobilization of the university and its active participation in the national effort for the development of solutions against Covid-19, NAFAS will be able to equip resuscitation and intensive care rooms. Its strong points: high technology that is 100% Moroccan, reliability, technical characteristics matching international standards, connectivity, mobility, autonomy and a competitive price, especially for the African market.
Breakthrough technology "Made in Morocco" which allows automatic detection and compensation of leaks, an integrated turbopump for the autonomous generation of compressed air and alerts and remote monitoring thanks to artificial intelligence and connectivity (IoT).
This 100% Moroccan respirator exceeds respiratory assistance to other medical needs in terms of monitoring, automatic management of anomalies. NAFAS has concentrated characteristics and innovation that make it a reliable and effective product for a wide spectrum of medical uses.
Note that the Moroccan consortium, which united to bring this project to fruition is composed, in addition to UM6P, of OCP Group, OCP Foundation, Mohammed VI University Hospital Center of Marrakech, the coding and computer science school 1337, YouCode, Abulcasis University of Health Sciences and Groupe le Matin
