Interdisciplinary workshop explored genomic tools for sustainable agriculture
On the 29th of May, the African Genome Center, Agrobiosciences, and the African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute organised a joint interdisciplinary workshop on plant-microbe interactions, genomics, and advanced breeding for climate-resilient agriculture at UM6P Campus in Benguerir.
The event aimed to enhance collaboration in plant-microbe interactions, genomics, and advanced breeding for climate-resilient agriculture. The workshop included institutional presentations, facility tours of AGC and AgBS laboratories, and working sessions focused on microbiome research and genetic applications.
Participants discussed potential joint initiatives, including microbial consortia development, genomic tools for crop and soil analysis, and genome editing technologies.
