 Objectives

The main objectives of the Master’s program are TO:
 

  • Develop learners’ understanding of theory and research in biotechnology and agronomic bioscience, namely genetics and epigenetics, microbiome, proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics, bioinformatics, biorefinery and enhancement of plant-origin biomolecules. 
  • Deepen knowledge of current industry practices, including innovation in biotechnology and techniques of molecular biology skills
  • Gain deeper experience in scientific data analysis, reports writing, and communication, and ethical practices.

Three options are proposed :

1/ Through its course on crop improvement in agriculture, the master's program will address topics relevant to crop productivity within the climate change context, including drought tolerance and the importance of the microbiome using modern scientific tools based on biotechnology and genomics.

2/ Rightly as well and through the valorization of plant biomolecules, this Master’s aims at preparing students for the key sectors of biotechnology, agri-food, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and cosmetics. It offers them immediate work or research and development opportunities in the field of these areas.

3/ The third course in molecular biology and innovation aims at preparing high-level specialists in a highly interdisciplinary field of applied biotechnology with a specialization in molecular biology applied to Microbiology, omics, innovation: molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, Biosecurity, and bioinformatics.
 

Target Skills

At the end of the training, students will acquire hard skills on: 

  • Develop critical scientific thinking within the scientific community
  • Interpret, synthesize and critically analyze the relevant related to biotechnology.
  • Perform experimental work, interpret and analyze results, write reports memory
  • Communicate their own research to peers and research scientists
  • Clearly present theories and results in written and / or oral formats
  • Design, set up experimental protocols, and interpret the recorded data

Beyond these technical skills, students will also acquire transversal skills in "soft skills" (communication, teamwork and language skills) and "business skills" (innovation, entrepreneurship, project management, ...) allowing them to interact effectively in their future work environments.
